Where Are you Grandma?

Where, oh where, are you Grandma, how could you leave me here all alone?
(with these parents who have RULES, ugh, thank goodness for grandmas)
Little Buckaroo stood at our front fence for almost 30 minutes on Friday waiting for his Grandma to arrive from Mississippi, which aside from being one of the sweetest things I have ever seen is amazing because he never stays in one place for this long. Our dog joined him so he could have someone to talk to because let me tell you, this little boy is chatty. Yes, he does take after his mom, but whew, I even get tired sometimes. Plus, he asks very intelligent questions for a boy who just turned 5. Such as, "mom what is truth?" "If God and Jesus are kinda one, is God by himself in Heaven doing everything?""Did you know a T-rex is a carnivore but was smaller than the brachiosauras?"

Big Buckaroo and I left the boys with Grandma for the day on Saturday to go look for land to build a cabin on. We were gone for about 16 hours, just he and I, the first time in 5 years we have spent that much time together without little ones. We had planned on even spending the night out, but I was feeling bad and Littlest Buckaroo was sick at home with a fever, runny nose, and caughing. Now, we have a house full of sick people.

Big Buckaroo and I did enjoy a wonderful sunset, talking without any commentary from the backseat, and a wonderful dinner where no kid meals were ordered. Life is good!

Building a cabin? Cool. I want to build a small one on my parents property just to write my music in. A place for me, like a one room cabin to kind of get away to for peace and quiet. The irony there is, my house IS quiet, because The guys are quiet to start! But I just always wanted a cabin!
I adore the picture by the fence! So precious. I love questions like that, I love how their little minds work. Challenges us sometimes though doesn't it?!
Happy New Year my friend!

Welcome back home! Sorry you got sick and didn't make it 24 hours as you had hoped. Now we can only hope your Mom doesn't get sick.

Did you find the perfect spot for the cabin? I hope you did and hope you enjoyed your time away. We ALL need that sometimes.

Have a Happy New Year in 2008.

We live in a cabin. Kind of unusual for Oklahoma. I remember those days when I would leave the kids and then miss them so bad. It gets easier when they're older. And, when we travel, sometimes they are all playing their ipods or watching the dvd player, and the car is blessedly quiet. Mine are now 14, nearly 13 and 8 1/2. Time flies.
