Picture Request Granted

I had a couple of requests for pictures with me in them from some of my favorite blog friends. They did not come to my site yesterday so I think they may be boycotting until I post something.

So, this is my best friend Nikki (left) and me on the right this past Friday night at out AWANA girls lock-in at church. First, one of the little girls took it, so the angle is not very flattering. Next, it is horrible lighting in the Fellowship Hall so no amount of Photoshop is going to help this, nor will it help my tired eyes, or the ridiculous amount of junk food and Dr. Pepper consumed, or the exhaustion that it took 3 days to recover from. Alright, I am done defending, but this is the only picture I have of me lately.

O.K. to keep this all honest and on the up and up, I am giving you another chance to mock The Park Wife. Here is a picture of when I walked in the door from an all-nighter.... at church, with tweens. Little Buckaroo was happy to see mommy and Big Buckaroo caught me in all my early morning beauty.

Well friends, yes I am talking to you Mapper and Betty in OK, your request has been granted! Let me know if there is anything else embarrassing I can do for you.

Oh wait, by the way, I won my first award!

The award was originated by Xandra from Heart of Service, and here are her words for this award:"...it's for blogs that I must read every day without fail . . . They make you laugh, cry, think and feel connected every time you read a post. They give you a thrill as you see them loading into your browser and you get an equally satisfying thrill when you see that they have commented on your blog.

I was given this award from my friend Sharon at Quiet Reflections who (even though I have not met her in person) I truly admire.

Thanks Sharon!

Until tomorrow,
The Park Wife

Oh my...lock-ins. Gish, I remember those days! Little Buck is just such a little man!

And you're beautiful in all the lights you've posted so far...just lovely!

Congrats on the post award! By the way, you look fabulous but I understand the need to defend yourself. I am like that all the time. In fact, when I post pictures from my vacation, you will hear a lot of "I'm tired, we got up early, it is humid..." There are some people out there who never worry about pictures or how they look in them, I wish I was one. Don't tell anyone, but sometimes, I photo shop my pictures before I post them. I'll fix my hair or reduce shine, just whatever I need to feel better...I am a sick sick person.

Was not boycotting, would NEVER do that buddy old pal. And I did come, just late late last night, like 2 AM, when the Imitrex finally kicked in and I could semi think straight. Bad day yesterday here.
You look beautiful, I am not sure what all the fuss is about... blah blah blah, need to photoshop phooey! I just wanted to see my friend. You could have had a cucumber mask on and curlers in your hair, wearing a old lady bathrobe and I would have still said you looked nice, cause really, it was just about getting you to come out of your shell a little! So many moms post of their family and not themselves. You are a beautiful, talented woman. Never fall into that trap of only photographing your kids by themselves or with others. Someday, when they are all grown up, those pictures with mom will be priceless. And I know you have them, it's just me nudging you a little to post them chickie poo.
Would NEVER boycott ya. You gotta know that by now ;)

Congrats on the lovely award! And I'll have to agree with everyone else, you do NOT look like you were at a lock-in and up all night. What lovely pictures!

Hello, Park Wife!

Sorry but hubby was sick and in a yucky test most of yesterday, so I am FINALLY getting back to the computer.
(Hubby is fine after all the probing and tests, BTW)

Your picture is beautiful (as I expected) - you are a vivacious person and it shows in your face - as well as in the writing in your blog. I am NOT disappointed. Who would guess you were up all night?!

I'm glad you survived the lock-in. Once I "chaperoned" a group at our church and within an hour they had ripped the plumbing from the walls of our ladies' restroom! What a wild bunch. They were from out of town on a band trip. What memories!! (Bad!!) Now you can be glad that didn't happen to YOU the other night. LOL

I'm sure your men at home were happy to have you back home. Life isn't the same with Mom gone.

Love you,
Betty in Oklahoma

I love it that you volunteer with the girls in your church. I loved the women who took time to run our youth programs. There was just something special about someone helping when they didn't HAVE to be there :)

You are GORGEOUS! I don't see any bad lighting or unflattering angle or sleep deprivation. I see a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile who knows how to have fun with a girlfriend and who is obviously adored by her child!
So THERE!
and so glad you posted this pic because I had a whole different image of you in my head...you are MUCH younger than I thought. I saw a photo of you in period costume for the holiday shindig and the seed was planted that you were much older than you are.

ok, I just re-read the comment I left, and it sooooo did not come out how I meant it. I'm an idiot when it comes to words I swear. You're gorgeous either way, I didn't mean to say you weren't gorgeous when I thought you were older, and I didn't mean to say you look old either...what I meant was...I uh....well..what I meant was, I just had an image of an older woman in mind when I read blogs I always try to picture the person writing as if I'm talking to them, and I was talking to a woman a bit older than me...you know what? I'm just going to shut up now and slink away and look for that crowbar down in my basement so I can pry my foot out of my mouth and hope you don't ban me from reading you ever again...

sigh....*slinks away muttering to self "stace..WHY? Why do you have to be SUCH a geek?"*

I'm just laughing because I can hear Stace saying all that. She means well, she's a dear soul...

You do look younger in these pictures, so I agree. See, you lost a few years by posting new pictures! How cool is THAT?!

Hi, there!

Those are nice pictures of you, despite the the angle or the bad lighting, you and your friend look like you were enjoying the evening! So, an AWANA "lock-in", huh?? Wooo-hooo! Did a boy scout one once, twenty little boys locked in a gym for twelve hours or so,...uh,huh. Nuff said!

Well deserved blog award! Pretty much sums up how I feel about your blog, even if I don't get around to posting everyday. :)

I love the pic of you with Little Buck. Y'all are both sooo cute!

Nice to see you! :o)

You are a lovely lady. Even if the angle of the first picture is sort of up your nose a wee bit... LOL

Great award!

Nice pics!! I realized I was taking all of the pictures and not in very many about a year ago. I decided to change that! I know my kids will enjoy looking back at our family photos one day and actually see that I was there too! haha

Glad you offered us a glimpse of you! You are definitely beautiful!
