Wildlife Adventure

Big Buckaroo, the Little Buckaroos and I decided to go Wildlife spotting yesterday. There is a Prairie Conservation Area not far from us, so we loaded up in the truck and set out. It was cold! As we were driving down the muddy gravel road to get there, we saw these.

What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a donkey in a field?

Well, they are not exactly the wildlife we were hoping for, but do wild a**es count?

Little Buckaroo running to the top of an Indian mound. He has his walkie talkie just in case he needs to call Big Buckaroo for back up when he runs into some fox, turkey, buffalo. Or, a wild a**, since at this point we were cold and that is all we had seen. We were complaining a bit about how cold it was and the wind so we returned to the truck to drive down by one of the lakes when JACKPOT, what needs wind to soar?

Bald Eagles!

As I looked at these extraordinary creatures, I saw their majesty, their strength, and most of all, their beauty. Wildlife adventure was now complete.
Let's go eat!

Awesome! I have only ever seen eagles twice in the wild before, once in Washington state and once in Nova Scotia. That's really neat that the boys got to see some!
Walkie Talkies rock. Every mom of a little boy knows that :) huh?!!! Except when the batteries die....tisk
Ahhhh the never ending quest for batteries in the home with boys!

There are wild a**es? I had no idea, learn something new everyday don't we?

I really enjoy my visits her Stephanie...it's so much fun reading of your adventures in the "wild". What a wonderful place for boys to grow up! My boys would have LOVED it. We have a creek running through our yard and a small wooded area the loved to play in...but a whole park...it would have been heaven on earth!
