Through the Years in Jonquils

Every year since we moved here, we have taken the little buckaroo's picture in the beautiful jonquils that grace every nook and cranny of the Park. This is a very special time, it signifies the promise of Spring and it is our very own kind of growth chart. But, it also makes me a little sad at how fast the buckaroo's are growing up. The day we moved here I found out I was pregnant with Littlest Buckaroo, and here we are 3 years later. What a blessed life we have.

So, without further ado..... the buckaroo's amidst the jonquils.

March 2008 (yesterday)

I adore this little boy and am so proud of what a gracious little gentleman he is becoming. Everyone that meets him just loves him and can see the light in his eyes.
Yes, the buckaroo's love to pick flowers for me. They come in with handfuls of flowers, most of them with not much of a stem.

Photography trick, bribe your children to sit still for photos with the promise of a sucker. Not the best parenting/training tip, I know. But, I have compliant, sweet natured boys (that wear guns and cowboy hats and will shoot you or try to arrest you in the grocery store). So, a little sucker reward is probably not going to nullify everything else (I hope).

There is a mystical bond between myself, Big Buckaroo and the little buckaroo's. I pray that we can strengthen this as they grow, tieing together strings of mutual love, respect, honor, and the bazillion good times we have together. Of course, the main strand is and always will be the Lord.

Great pictures and great thoughts you have written.

And, NO, the suckers don't hurt one bit. You do what you have to do! Those boys will grow up just fine. You two parents are THE BEST and know that God is in charge. You can't beat that!

Isn't it amazing how fast they grow! It takes looking at pics like this to see it. When we watch them everyday we forget to notice the amazing transformations into little men and women! Thanks for sharing your pics! I'm hoping to get to the daffodil fields this year!

Oh, I just love Spring, and I absolutely LOVE this post. I know the joy and the sadness you mention--(the sadness of seeing how much the kids have grown!)

Blessings,
Janet

P.S. I've been known to use the lollipop trick a few times myself--it works great!!
