Hair Up in the Air

The Park Wife is going to do something DRASTIC! No, I am not going to get Botox or a tummy tuck which would be on my list if I had some mad money (which I will never have for that kind of thing), but I am going to cut my hair off!

I have been thinking about cutting it a little shorter for the summer and then my blog friend Valarie's daughter Syd just cut hers off for Locks of Love. I decided that if I am going to cut some of it off I might as well cut off enough to help someone. It's only hair, it will grow back. So, I have to cut off 10 inches which will put it above my shoulders.

I looked online and have all the instructions plus my hairdresser does this a lot so she knows "the rules", the only thing it does not say is if I am supposed to let them know what Clariol color I use. Hmmm, I mean this is my natural color.

I am excited but a little nervous. I need my bloggy friends help, how should I get it cut??????Here is a picture of my hair currently so you can start visualizing some ideas and passing them on!

Littlest Buckaroo looks scared about me cutting off my hair!
No worries little man, it will grow back.

By the way, I have written the meeting day of The Park Wife and Ranger, but Big Buckaroo thinks he should give his side of the story, a he said/she said account. Should we wait on him or get on with the meeting?

I have had some questions about books I have read on child training, marriage, etc. I would love to talk with any of you via email about this, just email me at buckatwos@gmail.com.

Oh, Syd will be so excited. I mentioned to her the other day that you had mentioned that you might do this. :) Hmmmm hair styles let me think for a minute. I really am liking the wedge cut with it a little shorter in the back and longer in the front. That is what Syd has, but I have seen it more dramatic on some people and it is super cute. I had thought about getting mine cut, but Hubby said no, and I did not meet the qualifications. Yep you guessed it this is not my natural hair color. I dont think I really remember what color it is. I think its almost as dark as yours. :) Oh and if you go with pantene beautiful lengths you only have to cut 8 inches I think.

I just whacked all my hair off because it was interferring with my training (to climb Mt. Rainier) and my advice is to be sure to honor your face shape. There are websites that talk about short hair styles that go with certain shapes, and I perused these thoroughly before I went under the scissors.

Also, what books have you read? In my years I have certainly ready my share of marriage and parenting books, mostly marriage books lately, and if I have read them, I would be happy to discuss with you.

Both my daughters and my DIL have the wedge which is really popular right now. The dau's are about the same lenght, just below their ears, but my DIL's is almost to her sholders. The longer wedge reminds me of the page boy(does anyone remember the page boy?)

Something you can wash and go, no styling.

I was thinking Page Boy (as mentioned above) - but you might consider The Wedge as suggested. Seems those would be easy styles to maintain.

I'm doing those styles myself.

I think a wedge too! Maybe stacked a little in the back. Not too much though, you, like me, have a lot of hair & a lot of layers only adds to the fullness. No matter how you cut it you will still be the loved, adored & wonderful mom of the greatest, and sweetest boys on the planet. No not Pluto!!!! Sorry, little buckaroo.

I'd like to hear BB's side too! But I definitely think you should go ahead and post yours! I just can't wait any longer!!! As for the hair, go for it....It's only hair, and it will grow back! But I have no advice for you on how to do it! Love ya!

I just went from an all-one-length to long layers. It's actually been great! Looks good without styling (I have some wave...it looks like you do too?) or I can blow it dry and it looks nice and smooth and full. I can still pull it back too. I was nervous, and didn't like it the first day, but it worked for me after that!

Yeah, go ahead and cut it - but be sure to get a style that won't involve more time than you have to offer to your hair. I did that once and it made me miserable.

Your boy being afraid of the haircut reminded me of my Glamour Shots experience from a million years ago. I'll post it tomorrow - come read it if you want.

You know when I chopped mine, I sent it all to locks of love! It sure makes the drastic change easier! ;o) I'm very excited to see how it turns out!
