Although I had a great girls weekend going to a homeschool convention, I was so glad to get home! I missed my guys terribly. They had a blast, boys weekend was a huge success. From cooking hotdogs on the chimanea, hide-n-seek, using up all the sidewalk chalk on "roads" to ride their bikes on, wrestling, learning about chainsaw maintenance (o.k. this one was a little out there) and just general outside play all day, life is good! Plus, I did not walk into an overly messy house.
The play continued after I arrived home with dad building a "soccer goal".
The Buckaroos take a break for a picture between scoring goals.
Wow, look at that dribbling action, he is a natural.
Littlest Buckaroo was right in there, of course, he was not going to let a little 'ole soccer ball get the best of him.
The boys had fun, Big Buckaroo enjoyed one-on-one time with his little guys and I got to get a little away time. It was a great weekend all around, well except for the fact that my body is covered with poison ivy. I could whine for a while about this, but let's just say, it is miserable. Mind over matter, right? I keep trying to not think about it, but it gets so bad I just want to scratch. During my quiet time this morning instead of opening the Bible where I had been studying, I felt I needed to open it to Job. Poison ivy is nothing compared to his troubles and he praised the Lord through it all. So, every time I think I can't handle it anymore and start acting pitiful, I think of Job (and then go put on some anti-itch cream).
More on my homeschool convention weekend later,

There is this stuff called Buji that you wash with when you have poison ivy. I did not realize the the oil for the ivy did not just wash off with regular washing. So now we keep this stuff and it seems to have helped. Little Logan has it right now on his lower back. Bless his little heart.
I believe you can take Benadryl to ease the swelling AND itch. If you have some, you might try that. Or talk to your pharmacist - THEY know all the right things to do.

Glad you had a good time. I am in DC right now, missing my wonderful children who are on the West Coast. We are looking for a place to live for a year and someone to watch our epileptic dog while we are gone. I have to go back on Wed. and then will miss my wonderful hubby for three more weeks. I feel for all those military wives out there.
So did you find some good buys? I like the used curriculum sales too. I missed our local one.
BTW your hair looks great! And I enjoyed Big Buckaroos take on the first meeting. Waiting for more.

What a great soccer goal! That's one cool dad they have! ;o)
Glad you had some mommy time and can't wait to hear more about the convention!
ok, so everyone has told me to crush up virginia creeper leaves and it will take away the poison ivy itch....i've wondered if this works, let me know if you get desperate enough to try this let me know the results.
Hey! You are home safe and sound! Glad you had a nice time. Look forward to hearing about it. Glad the guys had fun too.
Glad you had a good time and are home safe and sound. So sorry to hear about the poison ivy - I'm very allergic to it, too. Place a wash cloth under hot, running water - as hot as you can possibly stand it, then place it on the places that itch. It will cause INTENSE itching for just a few seconds and then relief that will last quite a while. The heat causes your body to release the trigger for the itching all at once. Try it and see if it works for you.
