What Do You Think

of my new banner?

I am not as skinny as that gal but I am going to work on that this year. The beast, aka treadmill, is just itching to be walked on. It whimpers to me every time I walk in the room. I just ignore it as I walk by with my quart of ice cream. Sometimes I even talk to it and make promises for future attention. Right after I wash clothes, teach Little Buckaroo math, clean kitchen, change all light bulbs in the house, wash baseboards, figure our algorithms, etc.

Is anyone else committed to losing weight this year? Since I was an athlete I never really worried about my weight through college or the years up until I had babies. Throughout college and for about 3 years after that I worked in the health club business. And, let me tell you, January was a busy month for that industry. We could count on membership sales to skyrocket. I always chuckled a bit about people's New Year's resolutions to exercise more. That usually did not last until the 2nd membership dues were taken out of their accounts. Well, I am not laughing now. I know this can be done, I just am going to stop whining about it(one of my favorite pastimes) and get on the ball or on the treadmill actually.

As Big Buckaroo and I were on our land quest (16 hours without children- woo hoo) last week, we came across this mailbox. With Little Buckaroo's obsession with dinosaurs, I had to stop and take a picture. Of course now he wants one like it. I told him that maybe he could just go to these people's house for a visit every once in a while. It took me 3 days to make the Ankylosaurus outfit, I can not imagine how long it would take to even figure out how to start this. A welding course would be in order I am sure and I am just figuring out our DVD player, I think I just need to stick to the basics around this place.

My sweet, I mean vicious, Ankylosaurus. Yes, those are egg cartons on his back!

Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm glad to know there's someone else out there who agrees that loading our children up on "behavior pills" is not the answer! It's devastating.
That being said, I've enjoyed reading your posts. I'm totally with you on the weight thing. In HS, I couldn't have put on weight if I tried (and I did try). College, I gained a little but still remained very thin. Bring on the kids, and it's been much more difficult. Add to the fact that I'm married to a very health conscious chiropractor, and the heat is on! Exercise is sometimes a struggle for me too. I find every excuse not to. Like you, I need to make that commitment!
My son, Tristan, loves dinosaurs! He would want a mailbox like that too if he saw it. It's incredible!
Your dino costume is very crafty! Way to go!!!

I love your new banner. I don't "know" you, but it does seem to fit from how I "know" you on here.
I have enjoyed reading your blogs. They are becoming almost a daily thing for me to check now. I really should start one myself. Maybe THAT should have been my New Year's Resolution!

Hi there! I've been reading your blog from the beginning (not sure if I've posted or not) and noticed your ad bubble at the top. Thought you might want to know that the ad appearing for my viewing pleasure states "Free Wife Personals. Date Lonely House Wives Near You. View Profiles 100% Free. Join Now!

This seems just a touch outside the "you" I've gotten to know, value-wise. So, I thought you should know.

I cannot make it a goal to lose weight this year, as much as I want to, because I have a goal of summiting Mt. Rainier, and I must exercise very intensely almost every day and keep my body fueled, and when I excercise like this, I tend to gain weight.

Cheers!

Renee, Thanks for the heads up on the inappropriate ads. I am new to this and did a little research and am going to do what I can to block all of that. I am not real sure it is even worth having them on there, I think I have made 61 cents so far!!!! You are right, this is not acceptable to me and my integrity is worth much more than 61 cents.

Thanks for visiting my site, I am beginning to think that no one reads my rantings, I am glad you have.

Mt. Rainier, my goodness! You are my hero!

Thanks again.

I like your new header. It's cute! I LOVE the dino costume, too. You are so clever!

You probably won't like this, but NOW your "ad" says: "Meet Real Cheating Wives" - there are millions of them." Doesn't that one make you proud...? I'm sure that YOU didn't approve of that one before it was placed on your blog. I wonder what the next ad will be??!!

RE: Weight Loss
I was always TOO skinny all through school and tried everything to gain weight. Well, baby ... you should see me now!!! I need to LOSE weight and get myself under control on blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. I guess there is always something to worry with!

I hope your family is getting back to normal routines after Christmas and New Year's Weekend.

Love your new banner. Yes, I've lost about nine pounds on a low carb diet, and I joined the gym in September. I wrote about exercise on my blog a few entries ago. I've noticed I'm toning up although being over 45, the weight isn't falling off. Your costume and recycling skills . . . I applaud you! Have fun in Texas.
