9/11 ~ This set of numbers needs no explanation. They are filled with horror, sadness, and the resilience of the American spirit. Most people above 5 feet tall could probably tell you exactly where they were 7 years ago today when the first plane hit the WTC, I can. As a country, we were united, people clung to one another, wept, and PRAYED. They put others before themselves.
There are countless stories of heroes that emerged that day~ firefighters, first responders, policeman, the mayor, the office worker that sacrificed for their co-worker, the list goes on. The epitome of COURAGE.
I am going to share again one our favorite quotes as an inspiration to you and as a reminder to me.

You are right. That was a day I will never forget. Since I was working with the military at the time, it was a very trying day. Many co-workers ran home to get their kids from school.
Since my kids were grown, I volunteered to stay at work to help with Emergency Operations and Mobilizations of troops.
I did the same thing when we had the Okla. City Murrah Building bombing. So I had a totally different perspective from most Americans. Both events will forever be etched in my mind.

Me too, I remember 9/11 and the Murrah Bombing. We sent officers the OKC and firefighters as well. I wanted to go so badly, but had children at home and did not see how I could take care of them and be 90 miles away in the City.
I remember 9/11, taking my daughter to the health department to get a shot. But I can't remember what shot...isn't that weird? I must ask her. I knew we had been attacked, one plane, an accident maybe. Two planes, we were under attack. I watched TV for days after that, day and night. Never turing it off. I wanted to go help, but again knew I would not be able to. I hate seeing history being made, this is not what I want to be a part of. I would rather be part of the history that cures cancer!!!!
There are several instances in our history that I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing at the time.
9-ll is at the top of the list.
