I have to stop making fun of my college roommate for not leaving New Orleans during Katrina. As we were hurriedly taking down the tent, thoughts of my favorite quip to O, "did God tell you to build an ark" while she was trapped in the 2nd story of her townhouse during Katrina kept popping in my head. Then, I heard...Judge not, that ye be not judged. O.K. You have got my attention Lord.
Even though the end of our trip did not turn out how we planned (an understatement), the first two days were beautiful. So, I thought I would share pictures from the weekend before the debacle began.
This is the road as it looked on Monday while we were working on it, just a mere 5 hours before it became an area where mud wrestling would be the only thing that it is good for.
The little Buckaroo's adore their daddy and love hanging out with him. They are learning/helping to sharpen a chainsaw here.
Thanks to the 48 people (yea!) who let us know where you live and something fun about your town. Little Buckaroo and I are working on our map and I will start sharing pictures soon. This will take us a while because we are going to take our time and really learn not just where your town is but about them.
Until tommorrow,

However, Littlest Buckaroo needed a little more action so he started practicing drawing his gun. Yes, we are in the middle of our 91 acres, far from civilization and our child is wearing his holster, gun and hat. I told you that he wears them ALL the time.
We are happy to be home and now we have even more work to do on the road. Even though I have whined a bit, well alot, I feel that it was a blessing. Since this has happened in the beginning we can get the road done right so that this will not happen when we are at the cabin and HAVE to get out for some reason.

I love your boys. Littlest buck is just a child after my own heart with that cowboy hat.
And his big brother with that map stuff... well ;)
How fun! I love your road, the non muddy version. What a great place to have.
Beautiful acreage you have there. Those 3 men of yours are outstanding.
I remember wearing a cowboy hat like that and playing guns with my brother who was almost 5 years older. It was really fun. He took such good care of me and protected me from danger and kept me from drowning when I fell into a stock pond when I was about 4 years old. We were visiting our grandparents at that time. Yea for my big brother!
